Meet our language teacher: Annie Zhong – ChinesePod
Annie grew up in Shenzhen, China and has finished her Bachelor and Master Degree in Hong Kong. She is currently based in Hong Kong and has great passion on Mandarin teaching especially to foreigners. This year she just got her certificate of Senior Mandarin Teacher to Foreigners which is recognized by International Profession Certification Association. Also, she has been as a private Mandarin Tutor for some years, so she is quite experienced on teaching students at different levels. Besides, Annie is very friendly, open-minded, and patient and would be definitely helpful for you to learn Chinese! Her teaching hour will be mostly suitable for students based in Hong Kong and North America.
What is your favorite sport to play?
Swimming. Because when you do it in summer, you will feel refreshed instead of sweating.
What is your favorite hobby?
Hiking. There is lots of wonderful scenery in Hong Kong!
What is the most rewarding thing about being a teacher?
Students can make full use of what I have taught them. Sometimes they even invested something from what they have learnt.
What is your favorite book & why?
Harry Potter. It's still my favorite childhood memory.
What is your idea of a perfect day?
To have great food with a bunch of friends and go hiking with them.
What are you most passionate about?
Travelling. I would love to know more about different culture meet different people and listen to their stories.
If given the chance, would you travel to the moon?
If I am lucky to have this chance, I would love to try it because it will be a great challenge!
What is your favorite color?
Blue. Because I like sea and sky.
What is your next travel destination?
Turkey. Because this country is just between Europe and Asia and it should be a mixed culture there.
Why are you a teacher?
Because I love to talk with people and I hope what I talked can be helpful, too.
How do you describe yourself?
Open-minded, friendly, optimistic and outgoing
What does Mandarin teaching mean to you?
I would love to promote Chinese language and culture in order to make more and more people to understand it.
